Overview
UNICEF works in over 190 countries and territories to save children's lives, defend their rights, and help them fulfill their potential, from early childhood through adolescence.
Under the supervision of the Chief of Education, support the implementation of its inclusive education program activities, ensuring adequate and contextualized teacher support in the implementation of inclusive education approaches in their classrooms, as well as effective and regular screening for potential learning difficulties.
Work Assignment
- Overview of the assignment and road map outlining the steps and timelines
- Support municipal orientations and school-based training on inclusive education
- Ensure implementation and roll out of revised Child Functioning Screening Tool at the classroom level
- Develop, revise and support the implementation of a short, informal teacher-made assessment tool of the 3Rs
- Design a training and teacher support/accompaniment plan with INFORDEPE
- Support the Curriculum Cabinet on modifications and accommodations
- Support the transition of regional resource centers
Qualifications
- Post-graduate degree in special education, psychology, or another relevant field
- Previous experience working directly with students with special educational needs
- Previous experience working directly with families of children with special needs preferred
- Previous experience working in resource-poor contexts, with experience working in Timor-Leste mandatory
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Creative and self-motivated
