Project Background
The overarching objective of the EARTH project is to promote green development and climate action in Timor Leste climate change resilient agro-forestry sector that provides sustainable and fair benefits to Timorese men and women, including youth and other vulnerable groups. The project aims to support 4,000 people in Covalima, Manatuto, Manufahi and the Special Administrative Region of Oecusse-Ambeno (RAEOA).
Objectives
- Helps to clearly define the specific land area included in the agroforestry under WVTL's EARTH project
- Clearly defines area boundaries to meet prerequisite for accessing carbon markets and generating carbon credits
- Help establish clear boundaries for administrative units
- Help clarify legal boundaries for land ownership
- Help establishing a foundation for successful EARTH project implementation
- Allows the project team to plan and implement activities based on the specific characteristic of each area
Scope of Work
- Defining the areas of intervention and Objective
- Collecting secondary Data and Preparation
- Choosing right mapping tools and Software
- Conducting field-based data collection
- Digitalizing area boundary and creating map
- Final report submission
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree in geography, geospatial sciences, land use planning, natural resource management, or related field
- Proven experience in GIS, remote sensing, and boundaries mapping
- Strong technical knowledge in land use classification and participatory mapping
- Experience with GPS and GIS tools
- Experience conducting similar mapping exercises in Timor-Leste
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills in English
