Reporting Lines
The National Agriculture Support Consultants/PSA/project personnel will be under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative to Indonesia and Timor-Leste and the day-to-day supervision of the International Project Coordinator, Assistant FAO Representative-Program and in close collaboration with project and country office staffs.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Establish proximity work relations with Relevant Agriculture Directorates and offices of Central and Local governments (Municipalities)
- Facilitate field-level activities related to mobilization, formation and facilitation of interventions and trainings in the target municipalities
- Coordinate the implementation of the project activities
- Manage and monitor the implementation of Letters of Agreement (LoAs) and service contracts
- Build strong relationship and coordination with relevant stakeholders
- Facilitate field visits from national and regional offices and/or headquarters
- Perform other related duties as required
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in natural sciences, agronomy, agriculture, agribusiness, climate-smart agriculture, or related disciplines
- Experience in farmers mobilization, training, project management and coordination
- Working knowledge of English and fluency in Tetum
- Timorese national
Selection Criteria
- Familiarity with agricultural development issues in Timor-Leste
- Familiarity with group-based participatory extension approaches (e.g. FFS)
- Strong communication, team building and computing skills
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Able to ride a motorcycle and possess a clean driving licence
