Senior Climate Adaptation & DRR Specialist (Consultant)

Consultancy Overview

  • Position: Senior Climate Adaptation and DRR Specialist (Short-Term Advisory)
  • Location: Remote
  • Level of Effort: Approximately 10 days (flexible, input-based)
  • Duration: May – October 2026

Purpose of the Role

The consultant will provide senior technical review and strategic advisory input to strengthen the quality, coherence, and practical applicability of outputs. The role will function as a senior peer reviewer and technical advisor, supporting integration across climate risk, disaster risk management (DRM), governance, and planning components.

The consultancy will support the development of climate-resilient, costed, and implementable watershed and Suco-level plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct institutional and governance analysis and advise on implementable arrangements
  • Provide targeted review of climate vulnerability, risk assessments, and DRM integration
  • Support development and refinement of multi-criteria analysis (MCA) and prioritisation frameworks
  • Review CRIWDP reports, plans, and methodologies for technical quality and coherence
  • Provide on-demand advisory input to address complex technical or strategic issues

Required Experience

  • Extensive experience in climate change adaptation, DRM, or related fields
  • Strong background in institutional analysis, governance, and programme design
  • Proven experience providing high-quality technical review and strategic advice
  • Experience working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
  • Experience in the Pacific and Southeast Asia is essential

Reporting & Collaboration

The consultant will report to the Project Team Leader (World Vision) and work closely with technical specialists (agriculture, GIS, climate) and planning and facilitation teams.
