Project Background
The overarching objective of the EARTH project is to promote green development and climate action in Timor Leste climate change resilient agro-forestry sector that provides sustainable and fair benefits to Timorese men and women, including youth and other vulnerable groups.
Objective
The Inclusive Market Systems Assessment (IMSA) will identify high-demand, profitable agroforestry and fisheries products and assess value chains that can generate sustainable income and employment opportunities for smallholder rural communities in the EARTH project areas.
The IMSA will evaluate:
- Current market trends, supply and demand dynamics, and growth potential
- The roles of input suppliers, buyers, processors, and support services
- Constraints to enterprise development and inclusive market access
- Opportunities for value addition, environmental stewardship, and climate resilience within the value chain
Qualifications and Experience
- Advanced degree in economics, business, fisheries management, or a related field
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience leading market systems assessments and value chain analysis
- Technical expertise in fisheries and agroforestry, in particular natural and water resources management
- Technical expertise and experience integrating GEDSI and Financial Inclusion, Environmental Sustainability and Climate Action
- Experience in managing similar studies in the target geographic area
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills in English
- Fluency in Tetum and Bahasa Indonesia (Preferable)
- Local presence and capability to collect primary data efficiently
