World Vision Timor-Leste (WVTL) is a faith-based humanitarian and development organization committed to enhancing the well-being of children, youth, and communities. Operating in Timor-Leste since 1995, WVTL currently implements programs across Aileu, Baucau, Bobonaro, Covalima, Oecusse, Manatuto, and Ermera.
Objective
World Vision Timor Leste is seeking to recruit an external consultant to review and strengthen F-COTI's agroforestry and carbon credit initiatives through geolocation verification, environmental analysis, and updating the Plan Vivo Project Design Document (PDD) to Version 5 standards for third-party validation.
Scope of Work
- Review and confirm the initial geolocations of existing and potential agroforestry project sites in Manatuto and Manufahi
- Process GPS waypoints into GPS and GIS maps
- Conduct analysis of precipitation, elevation and potential land use
- Review and update the Plan Vivo Project Design Document (PDD)
- Assist in community engagement and FPIC process
- Provide technical advice to FCOTI field team
- Coordinate with international forest carbon expert and stakeholders
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in forestry or equivalent with 10 years' experience in forestry sector
- Understanding of Timor Leste Agroforestry and reforestation sector
- Experience in document development and writing
- Background in carbon sequestration and carbon credit program
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Experience with GIS mapping and analysis
- Previous experience working with FCOTI in Timor Leste
- Excellent communication skills in English
