Job Overview
UNICEF is seeking an International Consultant to review Inclusive Education training materials and develop a training and support plan for teacher and school leader training in Timor-Leste.
Key Responsibilities
- Review existing inclusive education training materials and map trainings already conducted
- Finalize teacher training manual and materials in Tetum or Portuguese
- Design a training and accompaniment plan
- Create a short teacher guidebook of concrete classroom strategies
- Produce guidelines for Curriculum Cabinet regarding assessment modifications and accommodations
- Develop standards for resource centers
Deliverables
- Mapping of materials and trainings with recommendations
- Finalized teacher training manual and materials
- Training and accompaniment plan
- Teacher guidebook
- Curriculum Assessment Modifications and Accommodations guidelines
- Resource center standards
Qualifications
- Post-graduate degree in Special Education, Psychology, or related field
- Experience working with students with special educational needs
- Experience working in resource-poor contexts, with mandatory experience in Timor-Leste
- Excellent command of written and spoken English; Portuguese or Tetum desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Creative and self-motivated
