Project Assistant – Engineering and Monitoring

Summary of Role and Responsibility

The Project Assistant – Engineering and Monitoring will provide critical technical and monitoring support for small infrastructure water management construction activities under the Disaster Ready 2.0 Program, funded by DFAT through the Australian Humanitarian Partnership. Working under the supervision of the Resilience Senior Program Manager, the Project Assistant and Engineer will support and oversee the implementation of construction activities delivered by Oxfam's local partners in Liquica, Ermera, Dili, and Oé Cusse.

Type of Contract

  • Location: This Position is based in Dili, Timor-Leste
  • Type of Contract: Fixed term (short term contract for about 7 months contract). This position is full-time, National Position, Open for National only.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Experience in infrastructure water management construction building
  • Experience in supervise any specific construction or technical support provided in related to water management construction building
  • 3-5 Years experience as Engineer and monitoring
  • Experience in disaster risk reduction, livelihood, and climate change adaptation (CCA) practices, small infrastructure projects designed to enhance water management
  • Technical knowledge of using kobo or air table tools to collect data
  • Experience in program and budget management
  • Experience and skills in stakeholder liaison, including with government and in public policy influencing and research
  • Strong communication skills including facilitation skills
