Coordinator Finance and Accounting

About the Role

The Finance and Accounting Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and effectiveness of Oxfam's financial operations in Timor-Leste.

Reporting to the Director Finance and Operation, the successful candidate will support financial processing, bookkeeping, reporting, compliance, and internal controls while ensuring adherence to Oxfam policies and donor requirements. The position contributes directly to the organization's ability to deliver impactful programs and maintain strong accountability to partners, donors, and communities.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Relevant qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in finance and accounting roles.
  • Experience with bookkeeping, journal processing, bank reconciliations, cash management, and expenditure verification.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including reconciliations, financial trackers, and reporting tools.
  • Experience using accounting software and financial systems.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience working with an International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO).
  • Familiarity with donor-funded projects and compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting audits and implementing internal control processes.
  • Knowledge of financial management in development or humanitarian programs.

Salary and Benefits

USD 11,188.28 to USD 13,425.93 gross per annum, inclusive of basic salary, 13th month payment (pro rata), social security contributions, medical benefits (pro rata), and applicable taxes. The final offer will be commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.
