Organisational Context
ChildFund Timor-Leste is the representative office of ChildFund Australia - an independent international development organisation that works to reduce poverty for children in developing communities.
ChildFund Australia is a member of the ChildFund Alliance - a global network of 12 organisations which assists almost 23 million children and their families in over 70 countries.
Purpose of the Position
The Communications Coordinator is responsible for ChildFunds communication activities for audiences in-country and abroad. The Communications Coordinator develops, and implements communications strategy for ChildFund Timor-Leste, and helps to build ChildFund Timor-Leste's profile and reputation as an experienced, trustworthy, child-focused development aid agency.
Key Duties
- Ensure that ChildFund communications positively and consistently reinforce ChildFund's identity and key messages
- Develop content to promote ChildFund Timor-Leste's work and brand in country and abroad
- Manage ChildFund Timor-Leste Social media channels
- Develop and maintain relationships with media in Timor-Leste
- Seek positive media coverage for ChildFund Timor-Leste's work
- Work closely with program teams to identify opportunities for developing communication networking
- Ensure brand compliance for the organisation
Qualifications & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Communication or relevant discipline
- Minimum 3 years working experience in communication roles
- Experience working with an INGO or similar organization
- Ability to write and speak English - at least intermediate English language skills required
- Experience in managing social media channels
- Skills in using design software
