CARE in Timor-Leste is currently seeking a Safeguarding and Protection Officer who is responsible for ensuring that all project activities are implemented in a safe, inclusive, and accountable manner, in line with CARE's safeguarding policies and safer programming approach. The role focuses on preventing and mitigating protection risk, including Gender-Based Violence, abuse of power and barriers faced by vulnerable groups, while ensuring communities can safely access assistance with dignity.
The Officer will work closely with government counterparts, community leaders, women's representatives and targeted households in Viqueque Municipality.
Location: Viqueque, Timor-Leste
Reports to: Project Manager
Position type: Fixed-Term, Full-Time
Contract duration: Five (5) months, with the possibility of extension subject to performance and unit/project requirements
Start date: August 2026
