Area Manager - SHAPE Viqueque

Project Management

  • Maintain regular communication with Project Manager.
  • Coordinate closely with the Municipal Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, IADE and other relevant municipal stakeholders.
  • Ensure the project activities within his/her area are implemented within the duration, scope, and budget of the approved proposal.
  • Lead weekly planning/review meetings with team members and participate in the SHAPE regular team meetings.
  • Ensure the following is implemented in collaboration with team members and key stakeholders:Selection and validation of beneficiaries.
  • Development of the Detailed Project Implementation Plan (DIP) as per donor guidelines.
  • Activity Implementation according to DIP.
  • Crosscutting issues such as gender equity, child protection, and environment are considered throughout implementation.
  • Work closely with other Area Managers and the Agriculture, Agro-enterprise, and Marketing Advisors to coordinate an integrated approach to value chain development, including facilitating the business
  • plan for farmers group, saving groups, and cooperatives in his/her area.

HR/People Management

  • Foster a friendly, positive and appreciate culture among the team members.
  • Ensure project team members relate well to each other as well as to project stakeholders.
  • Ensure the Employee Handbook is available to all team members and that policies and procedures as well as code of conduct are followed.
  • Mediate personnel issues and foster a learning culture.
    Ensure personnel capacity development throughout the project duration.
  • Seek advice from the administration team for issues outside the Employee Handbook or that require discipline.

M&E

  • Collaborate with the M&E team to lead quantitative and qualitative data collection of SHAPE Logframe in his/her area.
  • Ensure that his/her Field Facilitators submit the field report with good analysis.
  • Prepare and submit the monthly progress reports to Project Manager timely.
  • Collaborate with Managers and M&E team to facilitate monthly reflection meeting in his/her area.
  • Ensure that his/her Field Facilitators conduct research in selected topics.
  • Ensure that his/her Field Facilitators collect, update and report feedback and complaints from the community.

Financial Management

  • Ensure complete procurement and financial procedures are followed.
  • Ensure vehicle trip schedules are prepared and maintenance schedules followed.
  • Maintain regular communication with Finance Director regarding financial questions or guidelines.

Education, Experience and Skills

Essentials

  • Diploma iha Agriculture, Business Management, or relevant topics.
  • Minimum 5 year of experience in agriculture or agribusiness development
  • Strong technical knowledge and skills in rural agribusiness management.
  • Interpersonal skills and strong communication skills including ability to create good working relationships.
  • Good work motivation and teamwork
  • Flexible, creative and can perform in a challenging environment.
  • Computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Can ride motorbike and have valid license.
