Position Details

- Location: Dili - with frequent travel to Area Programs

Key Responsibilities
GEDSI Integration & Mainstreaming
- Integrate GEDSI across program design, implementation, and monitoring
- Promote inclusive practices in WASH, climate resilience, and disaster preparedness
- Support partners to apply GEDSI standards in field activities
Capacity Building
- Train and mentor staff, partners, and communities on GEDSI
- Strengthen use of disability inclusion tools (e.g., Washington Group Questions)
- Encourage inclusive leadership among women and marginalized groups
Community Engagement
- Ensure participation of women, people with disabilities, and marginalized communities
- Facilitate inclusive, community-led planning and decision-making
- Uphold safeguarding and protection principles
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Support GEDSI-sensitive and disability-disaggregated data collection
- Track progress against GEDSI indicators and contribute to reports
- Document best practices and lessons learned
Coordination & Advocacy
- Collaborate with CARE, government, and civil society partners
- Advocate for inclusive policies at the sub-national level
- Ensure alignment with DFAT GEDSI requirements
Qualifications
Experience
- 3–5 years' experience in GEDSI, community development, or humanitarian/development programs
- Proven ability to mainstream gender equality and disability inclusion
- Experience working with vulnerable communities
- Strong facilitation, training, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Familiarity with inclusive data tools (e.g., Washington Group Questions)
- Experience with NGOs, government, or donor-funded programs (DFAT experience is an advantage)
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Public Health, etc.)
- Training in GEDSI, safeguarding, or social inclusion
