Communication Officer

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES

Content Development and Visibility

  • Support communication and visibility needs of the organization and respective departments.
  • Provide in-house photo and video documentation of World Vision activities and impact stories for internal and external engagement, and donor requirements.
  • Produce high-quality visual content that inspires, engages, and positively transforms diverse audiences. 
  • Collaborate with Communications team members to ensure cohesive multimedia content production, optimizing the narrative and visual appeal for maximum audience impact.
  • Invest time in continuous learning and professional development to stay abreast of the latest trends in content creation, storytelling, and digital engagement, ensuring World Vision's communications remain current and effective.
  • Provide support to media or donor visits of World Vision’s programmes. Collaborate and support capacity building of field staff for content creation
  • Ensure all content complies with World Vision’s safeguarding protocols.
  • Ensure communication contents and visibility products are aligned with World Vision's guidelines and brand consistency, as well as donor branding and visibility guidelines.

Other

  • Participate in the design of communications plans and initiatives.
  • Support staff training and capacity building efforts related to communications.
  • Support planning and coordination of World Vision’s public events.
  • Facilitate, coordinate and liaise with external service providers and media/press when needed.

Emergency Response Communications

  • Capture high-quality and compelling communications contents during emergencies.
  • Provide communications support to the Emergency Response teams and leadership.

Required Professional Experience

At least 1 year of relevant professional experience in graphic design, communications and visibility

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification

High school graduate with post-secondary certification/training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluent in Tetum and have working knowledge of English
  • Good Photography and Videography skills
  • Skilled and experienced in graphic and photo editing
  • Previous experience with NGOs and/or donor-funded projects would be preferred
  • Previous experience in the humanitarian sector would be an advantage
  • Detail oriented and demonstrate creativity and innovations
  • Able to achieve result working in a multicultural context and with diverse teams
  • Have strong collaborative, planning and organizational skills
