The Translator shall undertake the following tasks:
- Thoroughly review the NFCS document in English to understand its content, context, and technical terminology.
- Develop a detailed translation plan outlining the approach, timelines, and resources required for the translation process.
- Translate the NFCS document into Tetum, ensuring linguistic accuracy, coherence, and consistency.
- Pay close attention to technical terms related to meteorology, climate science, and services, ensuring accurate translation and consistency with existing Tetum terminologies used in Timor-Leste.
- Conduct necessary research and consult relevant sources to ensure accurate translation of specialized terminology and concepts.
- Provide a glossary of translated technical terms for reference and consistency.
- Ensure cultural appropriateness and sensitivity in the translation, considering the target audience in Timor-Leste.
- Incorporate feedback and revisions as necessary based on stakeholder review.
- Collaborate closely with designated focal points from Timor-Leste government departments and RIMES.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all information and materials accessed during the assignment.
