Background
PRADET (Psychosocial Recovery and Development in East Timor) was established as a national NGO in 2002 to provide psychological and psychosocial support to people with mental health issues including survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, child abuse, human trafficking, and other relevant psychosocial problems in Timor-Leste.
KOKOSA= KOMESA (Start), KONSIENSIA (Awareness), SUPORTA (Support) no ASAUN (Action). KOKOSA provides instruments, orientation, and encouragement to individual and organizational activists to do preventive activities to prevent violence against women and children at the village level.
Main Responsibilities
- Support the community activist and local leader to implement the activities in the community by providing training, mentoring, accompanying, and other work-related in the community
- Support the KOKOSA Program Coordinator to implement activities in Suco (village) that have been identified in Dili municipality
- Support Program Coordinator to plan and prepare materials/activities needed for the workshops/trainings
- Facilitate training for the activist, community leaders, and community
- Accompany/assist the activist and community leaders to spread/expand program information
- Visit/survey activity locations based on planned activities
- Regular visits and support to activists implementing KOKOSA activity
- Support program coordinator with donor reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant area with knowledge and experience in gender areas including prevention of violence against women
- Experience in facilitating discussion and mobilizing community at community level
- Good reading, writing, and speaking skills; English and Portuguese skills are advantages
- Computer skills at standard and advanced level, able to use email
- Must provide Criminal Check Record
