Case Worker/Counsellor (Female)

Background

PRADET (Psychosocial Recovery and Development in East Timor) was established as a national NGO since 2002 to provide psychosocial services for people experiencing trauma, mental illness, domestic violence/gender-based violence, human trafficking, and other psychosocial issues.

PRADET-Fatin Hakmatek provides a safe space, medical treatment, and forensic medical documentation for clients who have experienced domestic violence, sexual violence, and child abuse. Additionally, Fatin Hakmatek staff provide community education and training, particularly to promote referral pathways in Municipalities and Administrative Posts to help vulnerable individuals access relevant services from PRADET and other partners.

PRADET is currently seeking a female staff member (1) to work at Fatin Hakmatek Oe-Cusse, preferably with a background as a General Doctor, Midwives and Nurses. Individuals with relevant study or work experience as a General Doctor or in other relevant fields are also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and provide treatment assistance to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and abandonment
• Accompany victims at Fatin Hakmatek when necessary (including overnight stays)
• Conduct follow-up or home visits in RAEOA - Oecusse, including Administrative Posts, as part of ongoing support for clients who have been reintegrated with their families
• Manage case referrals from partner organizations
• Refer cases/victims to partner organizations to receive further appropriate support
• Submit activity reports to the Program Coordinator
• Maintain victims' records in the registry book as well as in the electronic database/operations system
• Promote PRADET's services directly to the community and through the media so the public is aware of and can access these services

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree (S1) in a related field
• Have advanced skills in operating computers (MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and others)
• Know how to use e-mail
• Have good communication skills in English and Portuguese is a good advantage
• Criminal check record document
