Climate Finance Program Officer

Summary of Role and Responsibility

The Climate Finance Program Officer responsible for supporting the Climate Finance Program Manager to achieve the objectives of relevant projects under the Climate Justice Pillar.

The Officer will support the development and delivery of Oxfam's and partners' influencing and program activities on resilience related Climate Finance, Gender, Climate Change and Adaptation. The Officer will work closely with Oxfam' staff and partners at national, and other relevant municipal and regional levels. The Officer will be a key point of contact for partners working on climate finance and will accompany partners with technical support and capacity building. The officer will be a champion for gender inclusion within Climate finance work.

Contract Details

  • Location: Dili, Timor-Leste
  • Type of Contract: Fixed term, full-time, National Position (Open for national staff only)

Skills and Experience Required

  • Strong knowledge on Climate change in Timor-Leste in the context of climate change adaptation for resilience and climate finance flows
  • Technical knowledge on using influencing monitoring tool to collect data
  • Knowledge of program planning including gender awareness and disability inclusion
  • Experience networking with and supporting civil society in Timor-Leste
  • Experience in working in teams and in the effective delivery of project activities
  • Coordination and administrative skills
  • Proven influencing work and ability to negotiate and agree policy positions amongst different stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills including facilitation skills
  • Demonstrable understanding of gender and diversity issues and proven commitment to promoting gender and diversity equity
  • Relevant qualifications or skills in climate change finance related discipline
  • Fluent Tetum. Good written, reading and spoken English desirable
