Position Summary
IREX seeks qualified Senior Technical Advisor/Teacher Trainer Specialist (TTS) candidates to support the anticipated MCC-funded Teaching and Leading the Next generation of Timorese Project (TALENT) in Timor Leste. This activity will aim to improve the quality of teaching and school leadership in all secondary schools in Timor Leste. Based in Dili, the candidate will be responsible for coordinating the overall strategic direction and development of teacher training programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of trainings for current and candidate secondary teachers
- Lead the design and delivery of curriculum and training materials for school leaders
- Manage and supervise a team of technical and operations support staff
- Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and learning; program communications; and program reporting
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education, education administration/management, or related field
- At least five years of experience in education project management in developing countries
- Experience in teacher professional development and school leadership programs
- Technical expertise in designing and implementing education projects
- Strong cross-cultural and communication skills
- English language fluency
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience with remote or hybrid training programs
- Prior work in gender inclusion in education
- Experience in Timor Leste or the Pacific region
- Portuguese language fluency
