Timor Port S.A, a subsidiary of the AGL Group, is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Communications Manager. The position will be responsible for developing and executing the internal and external communication strategy once it is validated by the company. As an integral part of the parent company, the Communications Manager’s mission is to use traditional and digital communications tools and platforms to build and /or increase the company’s reputation locally and sub regionally; to attract and retain our talent and to promote understanding of the company.
The main responsibilities of the role will be:
- Ensure the development and implementation of the company's communication plan.
- Create a social media content strategy to enhance Timor Port's visibility, awareness, and moderation of social media platforms.
- Update and manage company’s website.
- Create content for press releases, articles, and keynote presentations in accordance with management guidelines.
- Coordinate and produce a weekly internal newsletter.
- Lead the coordination and preparation of promotional materials for trade shows, conferences and other events.
- Create strategic media relations.
- Oversee the design and production of communications.
- Organize internal and/or external events with or without partners.
- Ensure accurate and consistent use of key messages, branding and graphic standards across all promotional and communications elements.
- Participate in the development of the communication plan and annual budget.
Eligibility Criteria:
- A tertiary qualification in communications or marketing.
- 3 to 4 years of experience in communications and marketing, preferably in international industry.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing communications campaigns and events.
- Experience in using Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
- Essential: English, both spoken and written and able to write and translate from English to Tetum and vice versa plus with a minimum knowledge of Portuguese will be very advantageous.
- Asset – graphic design and photo/video editing skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to build and maintain strong relationships within the business by working with various stakeholders throughout the business.
