Youth Project Field Officer (Lautem Municipality)

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Youth Field Officer will report to the Youth Project Coordinator and will be responsible for the implementation of community level activities support in the direct management of the Youth Changemakers Project including assist to build linkages between Youth Changemakers and Youth CSOs in the delivery of youth-led activities and initiatives related to youth development and wellbeing. The position will undertake field monitoring and work closely with the training providers.

KEY DUTIES

  • Assist the Youth Project Coordinator in linking trained youth changemakers with youth CSOs including delivery of youth-led activities and initiatives related to youth development and wellbeing.
  • Provide mentorship support to Youth changemakers and Youth CSOs in all aspects of implementation of youth-led activities including monitoring and evaluation, problem solving and strengthening collaboration and team
  • Provide mentorship and technical supports to youth changemakers alumni, youth leaders and youth CSOs focuses on outreaching and peer education in school and community.
  • Assist youth project coordinator exploring the opportunity for youth changemakers, youth alumni, Youth CSOs and youth leaders for alumni youth forum and exchange visit of youth to relevant youth project.
  • Support youth project coordinator in strengthening local youth CSOs through capacity assessments and carry out capacity building of youth groups/CSOs using training module from vision to action in alignment with the project result framework working closely with the implementing partner
  • Engage youth volunteers in data collection of baseline, Mid-term and evaluation surveys and facilitating Focus Group
  • Participate in relevant technical working groups for youth engagement and coordination meeting with Lospalos Youth Center and ministry of youth, sports, culture and arts and building relationship with municipality government level and village level
  • Support in maintaining high quality project M&E data, writing cases studies through monthly collection of activity level data and collecting story content with youth, parents, Xefe
  • Assist Youth Project Coordinator in conducting post-training coaching program to trained youth being linked to livelihoods and
  • Perform other tasks that may be assigned by the Youth Project Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • University Degree or Higher Diploma in relevant
  • Minimum 3 years’ progressive work experience working in community development with children and youth, and community stakeholders.
  • Previous NGO experience in a similar position is required, as well as an understanding of Child Rights, Child Protection, and Youth Development.
  • Minimum 3 years working experience with or similar to youth project, youth networks and youth clubs.
  • Fluency in Tetum and Fataluku and other local dialogs in Lospalos
  • Valid Motorcycle license
  • Ability to conceptualize youth development issues, youth empowerment, and life.
