About the Role
The Australian Embassy in Dili is seeking a highly motivated and experienced person to fill the position of Program Manager - Infrastructure (locally engaged staff, level 5) in the Governance and Economic team.
Key Responsibilities
The position will involve:
- Infrastructure project planning, management, and implementation
- Financial management in accordance with Australian laws and regulations
- Undertaking technical site visits and report preparation
- Working within a small team to meet deadlines and manage workflow
- Travel in Timor-Leste and limited international travel
Selection Criteria
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate achievement against the following:
- Relevant qualification in electrical/energy, civil or structural engineering, urban design, or project management
- Infrastructure project experience, particularly across the planning, management, and implementation cycle. Experience in the energy sector is advantageous
- Particular financial management expertise and willingness to learn Australian laws and regulations
- Experience in undertaking technical site visits and report preparation. Understanding of Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) would be advantageous
- Excellent written and spoken English and Tetum
- Demonstrated competence with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and project management software (or willingness to learn)
- Ability to organise workflow, meet deadlines and work flexibly within a small team
- Ability to work proactively, under limited direction and anticipate priorities
- Demonstrated commitment to Gender Equality, Disability Inclusion and Social Inclusion, and a willingness to undergo specific training provided by the Embassy and Partnerships 4 Infrastructure
- Driver's license (or the ability to obtain one)
- Passport (or the ability to obtain one)
Terms and Conditions
- Two (2) years employment contract with potential for extension
- Salary: USD25,181.76 per annum (excluding 13-month salary)
- Working hours: 37.50 hours per week
- Successful applicants require satisfactory police clearance and medical check
